UC San Diego is proud to introduce DERConnect, a pioneering testbed funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF). DERConnect, set to open in 2025, is designed to advance DER research and test solutions that tackle operational and interconnection challenges. DERConnect offers utilities, industry stakeholders, and researchers nationwide access to a state-of-the-art facility equipped with diverse DER assets, advanced DER Management System (DERMS), and real-time grid simulation capabilities.
