Sayed Abdullah is a postdoctoral scholar at the University of California San Diego, where he focuses on developing academic use cases for the NSF-sponsored DERConnect testbed and its advanced Distributed Energy Resources Management Systems (DERMS).
He earned his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Utah in 2022. His research interests include the operations and planning of transmission systems, power market analysis, and active distribution networks. He specializes in leveraging numerical optimization, high-performance computing, cloud services, and machine learning to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in these areas.
