Sophia Zhang is the Lead Data Scientist for Advanced Forecasting and Modeling at Eversource Energy, a large utility in New England. Sophia leads the electric load forecasting at Eversource and drives initiatives to meet the challenges of emerging technologies and rapid decarbonization. Her team develops large scale electrification forecasts and evaluates impacts of distributed energy sources from building electrification, electric vehicles, to solar. Sophia has twelve years of experience as an engineer in the energy sector, across US and Canada. Sophia holds a Master’s in Data Analytics from Tufts University and a Bachelor’s in chemical engineering from the University of Alberta, Canada. She is passionate about leveraging big data to drive change in industry; to deliver innovative solutions at the intersection of data science, business analytics, and engineering.
